Astro Maxis - Dimensions Launching

Last Thursday (12th Nov 2009) went to The Palace at Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur to attend the premiere of Dimensions. Thanks to Dale who tagged me along to this event.

This series released by Astro and Maxis. The intention is to introduce Malaysia's first ever made-for mobile entertainment series. Dimensions is a sci-fi series combines suspense, fantasy, and action in a gripping and eplosive 11 episode series.

I wasn't know what is this all about until I attended this launching event, from my point of view, the film maker is better than my expectation, picture quality doesn't looks like local drama series, it is far better than that. The story line is quite interested since I'm a big fan of suspense, horror, sci-fi and action movies.

Let's look at what was happening on the launching event...

YAS Marina F1 Circuit, Abu Dhabi

Formula 1 2009 season is coming to the end, whole world already knew Jenson Button already clinched the world championship title before the final race. Besides that, Team Brawn Mercedes also won the constructor's championship for this year.

As I'm a big fan of Formula 1 for more than 20 years, I always wish to have chance to watch the race live in race track. So far I still never got the chance to watch it in any circuit, shame on me! Anyway, at least I got chance to involve in the YAS Marina F1 Circuit construction, although I was just in the project for few months, I felt happy even I just did a little contribution to the race track.

Since the Bahrain F1 Circuit, YAS Marina F1 Circuit (Abu Dhabi) is the second F1 circuit that recognised by FIA in desert land. That's the wonder of engineering works and money, from an empty desert land can become the most modern and proper race track in the world.

This final race of this year will be also the 1st ever F1 race in history that the race will be started from evening till the sky turning dark. That mean when the race start, the sunlight still shine on the track and before finish the race, it's after sunset and the race track lighting will be fully utilised like Singapore F1 night race. During this time, sunset at Abu Dhabi is getting earlier and the sky turn dark very dramastic.

Let's look again the actual track condition before I transferred back to Malaysia end of August 2009. This race track left plenty of memories for me, I left plenty of sweat and some blood (real blood, no joke!) on this race track.

Right now I really excited and can't wait to watch it from TV live telecast for this final race of the year. I think I can't hold my tears when I see it on TV this coming Sunday.

Nikon Show Malaysia

Today I spent a little time to visit the Nikon Show Malaysia in Mid Valley Megamall. My purpose to this roadshow is to send my D90 for free sensor cleaning and to see the latest 'Mother of All' DSLR from Nikon, D3S.

I was trying my luck to shoot some models for the contest, but when I arrived about 3.45pm, I don't see any model shows as stated in Nikon Show time table (3.30pm - 4.10pm), I lazy to wait for another session at 8.30pm. It doesn't matter, all I wanted was to clean my D90 sensor and to see latest D3S.

Can see cannot touch... So disappointed.

It's smaller than I expected...

Pretty sales girls entertain customers... Where can find?!

Overall, it wasn't as grand as I expected, nothing much to see on Nikon gears. This roadshow is more to advertise their new products and more to compact digital cameras. Thank you Nikon for the free sensor cleaning, but I'm quite disappointed that can't try out the D3S and the model contest event time table was out from what it scheduled.

Anyway, I'm just a small little tiny dust/virus in photography field, Nikon will not noticed and appreciate me if I praise them, they will not bother me if I condemn them too. To me photography is just my hobby and I just trust Nikon.

Maxis Rocks!

Remember my previous post about my iPhone from Maxis? Yesterday I received a call from Maxis to inform me that can collect my iPhone 3GS now.

I was so surprised, it just took about 10 days instead of 1 month as they promised.

The only dissatisfaction from me is the counter service was too slow, I was waiting for my turn for nearly 2 hours and have to skip my dinner!!! Many were U-turn back and unhappy due to long waiting.

Maxis shall reconsider their customer service system and extra counters in order to speed up and get more support from customers.

My Guitar Get Tortured

One day, when I get back home I saw my guitar being tortured by one of my housemates.

My guitar totured by a small bear!!!

For your info, my 2 housemates all are girls! I never knew about it until I shifted in. Don't think elsewhere, all of us got our own life. Anyway, it's fun to have crazy housemates...

Maxis iPhone 3G-S Too Slow!!!

Normally how long will you take to get a new car after paid the booking? From my experience it's only 1-2 weeks. Then how about online booking to buy any camera accessories? It's only 1-2 weeks as well.

Today I went to pre-book an iPhone 3GS from Maxis and they told me it will take at least 1 month only can get it. What is this???!!! I never encounter to buy a mobile phone can take so long! They told me world wide is having the same problem, I don't know is it true or not, but from my point of view, Apple won't be so stupid on their strategy not provide adequate stocks to their customers.

I felt it's a risk and unfair to someone who always travel around like me, I still don't know where am I will be gone in next month. I'll not able to collect the phone from the store I registered if I'm away to another place for some time, if I cancel it my deposit will be burnt! Now I'm gambling on it.

This is my first ever disappoinment towards Maxis after so many years I using the mobile network service, recently I also started using Maxis Wireless Broadband, and so far I don't have any complaints. The broadband service sometimes very slow too but overall it's ok for me.

Maxis iPhone 3GS Crap!!!
